Jaguar Concept cars..1966-2013

XJ13 (1966) – Built to race at LeMans, never run
The Jaguar XJ13 was a prototype racing car developed by Jaguar to challenge at Le Mans in the mid 1960s.
It never raced, and only one was produced. The car has not been officially valued, but a £7 million bid for it was declined by the owners in 1996.

XK 180 (1998) – Roadster concept based on the XK8
The Jaguar XK 180 was a concept car created by the British car manufacturer Jaguar Cars to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the XK car and to show the world the skills of Jaguar stylists, craftsmen and engineers. It was presented at Paris Motor Show in 1999.
It had a 4.0 litre supercharged V8 engine with four valves per cylinder, developing 450 bhp and 445 Ft-Lbs (605Nm) of torque. Its transmission was a five-speed automatic gearbox with rear wheel drive. Seating capacity was two. The top speed was 180 mph (290kmh) and the time to accelerate from standstill to 100km/h was 4.5 seconds. It was capable of covering a 1/4 mile (400m) in 13.5 seconds at 106 mph (170kmh).

R-Coupé (2001) – Large four-seater coupé
The Jaguar R-Coupe is a concept car developed by the British car company Jaguar. It was first shown to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2001.

Designed by Ian Callum, the four-seater, two-door coupe showed a new direction for Jaguars, which developed from the style of the 1999 Jaguar S-Type. It is the first Jaguar design fully created under Callum's direction after his appointment to the company in 1999.

The R-Type is designed around the XKR's supercharged V8 engine and rear-drive drivetrain, but Jaguar emphasised that there were no plans for production.

C-XF (2007) – Precursor to the production model XF saloon
The Jaguar C-XF (for Concept-XF) was a concept car that was designed to showcase the preliminary styling cues of the yet to be announced Jaguar XF. The C-XF was unveiled in the 2007 North American International Auto Show[1][2] with the production XF announced in the autumn of 2007 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The C-XF project was led by Jaguar Director of Design Ian Callum and Head of Advanced Design Julian Thomson. It included a 4.2-litre supercharged V8 engine, a 6-speed automatic transmission with Jaguar Sequential Shift, single slim-wedged headlamps which have evolved from the twin-lamp motif seen on past Jaguars, performance-themed interior, JaguarDrive Selector, Dual View screen, and a Bowers & Wilkins audio system.

A prototype with a body styling that was based on the S-Type had also been built, but was rejected before the C-XF concept was finalised.

C-X75 (2010) – Hybrid-electric sports car, originally intended for production but cancelled in 2012
Jaguar C-X75 is a hybrid-electric, 2-seat, concept car produced by Jaguar Cars in partnership with Formula One team Williams F1 which debuted at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. The C-X75 concept produces 778 horsepower through four YASA electric motors, each of which drives one of the four wheels. The batteries driving these motors are recharged using two diesel-fed micro gas turbines instead of a conventional four-stroke engine. It was described as a design study that would influence future design and technology.

C-X16 (2011) – Precursor to the production model F-Type
The Jaguar C-X16 is a concept hybrid electric sports car that was unveiled by Jaguar Cars at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show on 13 September. In April 2012, Jaguar announced that they will be manufacturing a new sports car based on the Jaguar C-X16 called the F-Type, which was subsequently shown to the public (in non-hybrid form) at the Paris Motor Show in September 2012.

C-X17 (2013) – First ever Jaguar SUV concept
The Jaguar C-X17 is a concept crossover SUV designed by Jaguar Cars and unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. It is Jaguar's first ever crossover SUV.

It is expected that the C-X17 concept will evolve into a production model, and at the 2015 North American International Auto Show it was announced that the production version for 2016 would be called the F-Pace.
